Kevin A. Phillips is a visual artist based in Colorado. His work explores the space between reality and imagination, using bold color, surreal imagery, and familiar subjects transformed in unexpected ways. Through painting and public art, Kevin draws from themes of identity, transformation, nature, and the landscapes and culture of the American West.
His work often combines recognizable imagery with elements that feel dreamlike, fragmented, or otherworldly. Figures, animals, landscapes, and everyday objects become vehicles for exploring contrast: strength and vulnerability, beauty and imperfection, the familiar and the strange.
Working across studio painting, murals, and public art, Kevin continues to expand his practice while maintaining a distinctive visual language rooted in color, experimentation, and storytelling. His work has been exhibited throughout Colorado and Wyoming and can be found in galleries, public spaces, and private collections.
His newest body of work, Beyond The Veil (opening July 2025), traces a progression from obscured portraiture to radiant emergence. Shrouded figures dissolve into liquid forms, shadow gives way to light, and stillness becomes movement. Each piece serves as both a mirror and a veil, offering intimacy while preserving mystery.
Kevin’s solo exhibitions include SINGULARITYat RemainReal Fine Art (2024), developed during his residency with the gallery, and Ripples of the Void(2022) at Esther and John Clay Fine Art. His work is held in private collections across the United States and internationally, and has been exhibited throughout Colorado and Wyoming.
Rooted in personal narrative and refined through years of dedicated practice, Kevin’s work continues to evolve, pushing toward emotional resonance, conceptual clarity, and the edge of the visible.
